Torcatha Hits the Menu in the South of France: A Small Step, A Big Signal
Share
This week, I got one of those messages that stops you in your tracks. My distributor in France reached out with an update: a restaurant in Sainte-Maxime, right on the French Riviera, had purchased Spìosrach Torcatha BBQ Sauce and added it to their menu.
The dish?
Croissant du Boucher—“Butcher’s Croissant.”
It's a buttery French croissant stacked high with brisket, greens, pickles, and a bold drizzle of Spìosrach—our award-winning spicy variety. And here's what makes it even more meaningful: the restaurant, La Reine Jeanne, is sharing my story with their guests.
They’re telling people about the firefighter behind the sauce. The 40-year-old family recipe passed down through generations. The brand built on strength, courage, and discipline. They’re not just serving Torcatha—they’re helping tell the story of what it means.
From Texas Firehouse to the French Riviera
La Reine Jeanne isn’t a massive chain. It’s a local, beachside restaurant with real soul. They serve fresh seafood, host live music nights, and look out onto the Mediterranean Sea. This is where both tourists and locals go to unwind, connect, and enjoy something memorable.
For them to bring a Texan BBQ sauce halfway across the world and make it a highlight of their menu? That’s not just validation—it’s momentum.
Why This Moment Matters
When I started Torcatha, my goal wasn’t just to sell sauce. I wanted to build something with a soul—something that reflected the values I live by as a firefighter and leader: strength, courage, and discipline. I wanted people to experience flavor with depth, food with purpose.
Seeing that take root in a place like Sainte-Maxime tells me we’re on the right path. It’s a small first step in a new market, but it’s also a reminder that authenticity travels. The work matters. And the right people notice.
What’s Next
This is just the beginning. We’re continuing to expand throughout France, with strong early traction from trade shows, tastings, and now this restaurant partnership. My hope is that Torcatha will soon be on shelves and menus across Europe—while staying true to the roots that made it special in the first place.
For now, I’m just grateful. Grateful to the team at La Reine Jeanne for believing in our flavor. Grateful to my distributor for championing our story. And grateful to everyone who’s helped Torcatha go from a kitchen in Texas to a croissant on the coast of France.
Vi et Animo.
Strength. Courage. Discipline.
Let’s keep building.
